Spelling to Communicate (S2C) teaches individuals with motor challenges the purposeful motor skills needed to point to letters and spell as an alternative form of communication (AAC). Through structured practice, spelling shifts communication from a fine motor demand to a more accessible gross motor process, helping to build muscle memory and greater motor control. As these motor skills improve, individuals progress from pointing to letters on boards to typing on a keyboard, allowing their communication to expand from more concrete expression to increasingly abstract and complex language.
